Lithuania: Law banning fur farms passed
05-10-2023
Lithuanian lawmakers in Vilnius passed a law on 21 September 2023 banning fur farms in the Baltic country. The ban will come into force in 2027 after a three-year transition period from 2024 to 2026 during which fur farmers will be able to close their farms and receive compensation. Lithuania is the 20th country in the EU to adopt such a rule.
