International: Global EbA Fund announces up to USD 7.5 million for Ecosystem-based Adaptation

The Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Fund is jointly implemented by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and financed through Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI). 

On 24 August 2026, the Fund announced up to USD 7.5 million in new funding at UNCCD COP17 in Mongolia. The funding aims to support the scaling of nature-based solutions that strengthen climate resilience and advance ecosystem restoration. This includes the eighth call for small-size grants of up to USD 250,000, as well as the first-ever call for medium-size grants of up to USD 500,000. 

The small-size grants support projects that help facilitate the scaling of Ecosystem-based Adaptation approaches, particularly in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The medium-size grants support, among other areas, innovative financing approaches, climate resilience in fragile and conflict-affected regions, and stronger linkages between climate, biodiversity and land-related goals. 

Eligible applicants include NGOs, Indigenous Peoples’ organisations, universities, research institutions and private-sector actors.
