International: A global knowledge space for animal health and welfare

13-03-2025

In early 2025, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), originally established as the OIE, launched a website designed to enhance awareness of key global issues related to animal health, welfare, and veterinary practices. Named The Animal Echo, the platform combines scientific articles and expert-written blog posts covering topics in animal, public, and environmental health, as stated by WOAH on 24 January 2025. It also serves as a space for sharing insights and experiences, fostering thought leadership in the animal health sector, and amplifying voices from within the organization. To commemorate its debut, The Animal Echo featured an initial collection of articles focusing on gender in the veterinary field, animal health, and biosecurity. The Animal Echo not only informs but also encourages innovative thinking with articles that explore unconventional perspectives such as "Capturing Beauty, Protecting Health: How Bird Photography Can Raise Awareness About Avian Influenza”, which was published today.
