09-01-2025

On 20 December 2024, the Federal Council approved a partial revision of the Animal Welfare Ordinance that had been in force up to that point, thereby adapting the legal requirements to the current state of knowledge in the field of animal welfare, according to the Council.
The changes will come into force on 1 February 2025 and, among other things, regulate a higher minimum age for puppies when they are imported, an improvement for farm animals, an end to the killing of chicks and an improvement in the keeping of laboratory animals.
