International: With a new bill Brazil is taking another step forward for animal-free research.
30-10-2024
According to a report of HSI (Human Society International) from 29 October, Brazil’s senate has approved a new chemical management bill that restricts animal testing to a “last resort” and requires development of a strategic plan to fully transition away from animal use, measures championed by Humane Society International.
These measures were advocated by the Humane Society International, which says it worked with the Brazilian government on the bill.
Accordingly, Brazil would like to set a good example for other countries by prioritising modern, human-based research.
