Statistics of Animal Testing Switzerland 2023

On September 17, 2024, the Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office  published its report on animal testing statistics for 2023.

According to the report, the number of animals used in animal testing increased by 1.6% overall compared to the previous year. However, the number of experiments involving severe stress, i. e. with a severity level of 3 decreased by 2.4% (for the first time after the number of these stressful animal experiments had continously increased between 2014 and 2022).
