France: national plan to improve animal welfare

On 22 May 2024, the French government published a national plan to improve animal welfare.

Comprehensive support and funding will be provided:
- Preventing and combating the abandonment of pets
- improving the management of stray dogs and cats
- Preventing and combating the mistreatment of pets.
